On the border with Crimea, Ukraine made some noise with “BUKs”

Exercises of Ukrainian combat crews of Buk anti-aircraft missile systems were held on the administrative border with Crimea. The training ended with simulated launches against air targets, which, according to the exercise scenario, covered important civilian and military infrastructure from an air strike.

This was reported by the press service of the command of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

According to the commander of the Joint Forces Sergei Naev, the air defense missile system unit made a long march in vehicles to the positioning area. On the spot, the military deployed complexes in unequipped positions, practiced search, detection, capture and tracking of air targets.

“The divisions coped well with the task. The implementation of practical actions was carried out on unfamiliar terrain in a complex ground, air and radio-electronic situation. The crews quickly took up combat duty, automatically escorted and destroyed the targets of the simulated enemy detected by the radio-location station even before they entered the area of responsibility, ”Nayev reported.

Note that on July 19, near Lviv, the multinational tactical exercise “Three Swords-2021” started. Over 1.2 thousand military personnel, 200 combat vehicles from four participating countries take part in them: Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and the United States. Ukraine will be represented by a unit of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the exercise, which will last until July 30, several unique trainings will take place, aimed at working out joint tasks to defend the territory from an external aggressor.
