Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has no doubts that the Nord Stream 2 gas trunkline will be completed. He stated this in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel.
Novak stressed that Nord Stream 2 is a commercial project in which Russia’s European partners are interested. The gas pipeline is already in a high degree of readiness.
“I am sure that Nord Stream 2 will be completed, especially since measures are already being taken to complete it,” the Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence.
Novak also commented on the possible imposition of sanctions on the project. He stressed that if the parties interested in suspending the implementation of such “SP-2” projects take such measures, “it will be necessary to adjust somehow.”
By the way, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that Berlin would not change its approach to the gas pipeline project in connection with the upcoming inauguration of US President Joe Biden on January 20.
Let us remind you that the United States is against the implementation of Nord Stream 2. Washington has previously imposed sanctions against him, and recently there was talk of a possible expansion of restrictions. In Moscow, such actions are considered a raider attack, nevertheless, they emphasize that the construction of the gas pipeline is nearing the finish line.
