Europe adheres to the principle of “at random” in the formation of gas reserves, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, speaking at the forum “Russian Energy Week”.
Consumers, he said, are reaping the benefits of policy imbalances. In this case, it is necessary to have strategic reserves for the passage of the autumn-winter period, as well as to take into account all possible scenarios.
“Not so that we can live at random. If at random, as has happened in recent years, it turns out that the closing price in the absence of supply forms a high price, ”added Novak.
The head of the Energy Development Fund Sergei Pikin said earlier that the Russian pipeline Nord Stream 2 is the only way out of the current crisis. In addition, the project can become a tool for reducing prices for blue fuel in the European Union.
