“Azerbaijani positions are located in close proximity to Armenian villages on pastures, arable and hay lands of Armenian citizens. They are there without any legal basis. – stated the Ombudsman of Armenia Arman Tatoyan.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry also issued a statement, condemning the violation of the ceasefire regime by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and calling the incidents Baku’s next encroachment on the territorial integrity of Armenia. Such provocations violate international law and undermine regional security.

“The Armenian side has repeatedly stated that one of the ways to avoid further aggravation of the situation could be a mirror withdrawal of troops from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the activation of an international monitoring mechanism along the border. We call on the Azerbaijani authorities to refrain from provocative actions and fulfill the obligations to establish stability in the region, undertaken by the tripartite statement in Sochi and following the results of the meeting in Brussels,”

the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces and the settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh are shelling: on Monday, January 10, the Azerbaijani side opened artillery fire on the villages of Krasny Bazar and Tagavard of the Martuni region and on the village of Nakhijevanik of the Askeran region.
