The Armenian Defense Ministry reports that Major General Mikhail Kosobokov has been appointed the new commander of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Lieutenant-General Rustam Muradov, commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, has completed his mission in the region. Now Major General Mikhail Kosobokov has been appointed in his place, the Armenian Defense Ministry reports.
The head of the department Arshak Karapetyan has already met with the new Russian commander and congratulated him on his appointment.
Previously, Kosobokov was deputy commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army and commanded a Russian military base in Abkhazia. As for Muradov, it is reported that he will soon return to Russia.
