The conclusion that Navalny was evading control was made by the Federal Penitentiary Service on the basis of a report on his treatment at the Berlin clinic “Sharite”.
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was sentenced to a suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case; the probationary period for this sentence was extended until 2020 inclusive.
Based on an article in the Lancer magazine, which presents a report on Navalny’s treatment at the Berlin clinic Charite – according to him, the politician was healthy already on October 12, the FSIN claims that he violated the court’s decision, as a result of which his suspended sentence may be replaced with a real one.
The department sent a notification to Navalny, as well as to his lawyer and press secretary, in which it demanded that Navalny immediately appear at the criminal executive inspectorate for control.
The politician himself stated in his blog that if the Russian authorities consider the information presented in the Lancer publication reliable, they are obliged to initiate a criminal case on the attempted murder of Navalny.
In addition, he stressed that the Yves Rocher case, in which he received a suspended sentence, was recognized by the European Court of Human Rights as fabricated, and the Russian Federation even paid compensation to Navalny, in accordance with the decision of the ECHR.
