NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenbeng said that the alliance will learn from the Afghan problem, and Russia and China should work together with all Western countries to prevent the spread of terrorism. Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev noted that NATO had previously repeatedly and arrogantly rejected the proposals of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on cooperation with NATO on counterterrorism in Afghanistan.
According to Kosachev, NATO’s behavior on the Afghan issue was previously “at times openly boorish” in relation to Russia. At the same time, Kosachev said that Russia is still ready to cooperate with NATO on the issue of countering terrorists. He stated this on his Facebook.
Kosachev also noted that cooperation in anti-terrorist issues should be carried out on an equal footing without “imposing fanaticism on the winner.”
Earlier it was reported that representatives of Russia and China will take part in the meeting of the G7 countries, which will be held on September 8. At the same time, the influence of Moscow and Beijing on Kabul is noted.
