The granddaughter of the founder of fascism, Benito Mussolini, won the elections in Rome for the second time.
The granddaughter of the head of the Italian fascists, Duce Benito Mussolini, confidently won the elections to the city council of Rome.
Raquele Mussolini, 47, represented the Brothers of Italy party, her second election victory since 2016. The party adheres to the right ideology, according to the newspaper La Repubblica.
“A person is more important than a surname, no matter how difficult it may be,” said the granddaughter of the founder of fascism on accusations of adherence to this ideology. Earlier in Italy, a photo of Mussolini’s granddaughter caused a scandal. On April 25, when the country celebrates the Day of Liberation from Fascism, Rachele posted a photo on the Internet with the caption “On April 25, I only celebrate St. Mark’s Day.”
Earlier, Mussolini’s party colleague also caused a scandal by publishing a photo with a bust of Mussolini and a hand in a “Roman greeting”.
Benito Mussolini was an ally of the Nazi Adolf Hitler and was killed by guerrillas at the end of World War II.
