Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko expressed the hope that the widespread use of the Sputnik V vaccine would be an important step in protecting citizens of Russia, Belarus and other countries from coronavirus, RIA Novosti reports.
The head of the Ministry of Health noted the high interest of Belarusian colleagues in organizing access for citizens of the republic to the drug, which was demonstrated in the country from the very beginning.
“As a result of the close work of the regulatory bodies of the two countries, clinical trials of the vaccine with the participation of volunteers were organized and successfully carried out, which resulted in the registration of the drug,” Murashko said.
He said that negotiations are underway to organize the production of the drug in Belarus.
Earlier today it became known that the first batch of vaccine arrived in the country.
