The Munich Security Conference – 2021 will still take place at the end of February, but it was decided to hold the event in an online format, the DPA agency reports with reference to the head of the authoritative forum Wolfgang Ischinger.
He specified that the event will take place on February 19 and will last for several hours. US President Joe Biden confirmed his participation in the forum.
“If an American president decides to make his first speech to the European public at the Munich Security Conference, then it means that he has high expectations of Germany in terms of transatlantic relations,” Ischinger said.
Initially, the conference was planned to be held on February 19-21, but then, due to the situation with the coronavirus, it was decided to postpone the event to a later date.
