More than 100 thousand Britons demanded to deprive Tony Blair of the knightly order

More than 100 thousand people in half a day signed a petition demanding to deprive former British Prime Minister Tony Blair of the country’s highest award – the Order of the Garter.

According to the statement, the politician caused irreparable damage to the constitution of the United Kingdom and the very structure of British society. The authors of the petition believe that the ex-prime minister is personally responsible for the deaths of a huge number of innocent civilians and participation in various conflicts.

“Tony Blair is the person who least deserves any government award,” – says the material.

Citizens urge incumbent British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to appeal to Queen Elizabeth II to strip Blair of her knighthood.

Recall that Tony Blair headed the British government from 1997 to 2007, during which time Great Britain took part in the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. The politician received this award for his work as head of government.
