According to information from the source, the country’s leadership does not exclude that Chisinau will not be able to conclude a contract with the Russian “Gazprom” before November 1. This statement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Andrei Spinu at a briefing on Wednesday.
“A scenario is not ruled out according to which we will not be able to conclude a contract with Gazprom by November 1, and gas will not enter the country in the required volume,” he said.
It is noted that after the meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations in the country, a “alert mode” was declared, implying a reduction in gas consumption and the allocation of fuel oil reserves from the state reserve for energy companies.
Let us remind you that on September 30 the contract between Moldovagaz JSC and Gazprom expired. In this regard, the agreement was extended for a month. According to the provisions on its extension, Moldova will buy gas at $ 790 per thousand cubic meters, which is lower than the price at which gas goes to Europe.
