Minsk sent a note to Ukraine due to the participation of Belarusians in the march of nationalists

The Belarusian Embassy in Ukraine sent a note of protest to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry over the participation of the Belarusian opposition in the torchlight procession of nationalists in Kiev on January 1. This was reported on the website of the embassy of the republic.

The report says that the Belarusian side condemns the mass participation of activists of the fugitive Belarusian extremist opposition in the nationalist march with the tacit connivance of the Ukrainian authorities. The embassy stressed that the oppositionists of the republic took part in the action with the symbols of Belarusian collaborators and servants of the Third Reich.

The note notes that the attempts to glorify the “collaborators, murderers and punishers of the Belarusian people” echo with pain in the hearts of the inhabitants of the republic.

The Belarusian side also expressed a strong protest over the growing radicalization of the anti-Belarusian position of Ukraine. She, according to the embassy, is expressed in conniving at the demonstrative celebration of the collaborators and executioners of the Belarusian people.

As a reminder, on January 1, torchlight processions were held in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine on the occasion of the 113th anniversary of the birth of the ideologue of Ukrainian nationalism Stepan Bandera. During the Great Patriotic War, he collaborated with Nazi Germany, and also led a movement that fought against Soviet troops. In this regard, the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin called for the imposition of sanctions for encouraging nationalists in Ukraine.
