Minsk initiates a meeting of the WHO Executive Committee on the migration problem

Belarus will initiate an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Health Organization to consider the issue of the brutal actions of the Polish security forces against the migrants who have accumulated at the border. This was stated by the deputy chairman of the Belarusian government Igor Petrishenko.

He noted that Minsk is not interested in the existence of a refugee camp on the Belarusian-Polish border for a long time.

“We strongly recommend taking effective measures to ensure an early resolution of this crisis at the border,” the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister of TASS is quoted as saying.

Petrishenko also stressed that the republic did not contribute to the emergence of the current situation: the migration crisis was brought to Belarus from the outside.

Earlier, Minsk recognized 132 people, including over 20 children, as victims of the actions of the Polish border guards and the military.

The day before, a group of 118 illegal migrants left Belarus. On Tuesday, November 23, a new group of refugees is preparing to fly out of Minsk. Migrants leave the country on an individual basis.
