The buildup of NATO forces near the borders of the republic and the strengthening of Poland’s military presence can be regarded as preparation for war, said Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin in an interview published on the ministry’s YouTube channel.
“This is all very alarming and worried about the fact that a complex of such events is being carried out,” the minister said.
Khrenin stressed that in the current situation it is difficult to predict how events might develop, and the current state of affairs resembles the events before World War II.
The minister drew attention to the fact that large-scale exercises are being conducted in the Baltic countries and in Ukraine, and military equipment sometimes continues to remain at the borders of Belarus even after the end of the maneuvers.
Earlier Khrenin stated that Minsk does not yet consider it necessary to deploy Russian military bases in the country, despite the activation of NATO on the western border.
We add, in Warsaw reported that NATO offers assistance to Poland in the migration crisis. It was about a political settlement of the situation and support of the Polish security forces on the Polish-Belarusian border, where thousands of refugees from Asian and African countries have accumulated.
