Ministry of Justice of Georgia: meeting on Saakashvili case should be held in prison

Representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia said that the sessions on the case of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili should be held in prison for security reasons and not taken to court. This was reported on the page of the Special Penitentiary Service on Facebook.

Justice Minister Rati Bregadze said that Saakashvili could be in danger. And since the department is obliged to protect the prisoner, it strongly recommends not to take the ex-president out of the institution No. 12.

The court session is scheduled for November 10. It will consider the case of the brutal dispersal of the opposition rally on November 7, 2007, as well as the misappropriation of the Imedi TV company.
