Rear Admiral Alexander Grinkevich, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in Syria, announced that the militants were preparing a provocation using toxic substances in the southern part of the Idlib de-escalation zone.
According to the Center, the militants were going to use chemical weapons against civilians in order to further blame the Syrian government forces for this.
According to Grinkevich, the militants delivered barrels of chloroform to Sfukhon, and members of the pseudo-human rights organization White Helmets also arrived there. Syrian authorities suspect this organization of links with extremists and hostile propaganda activities.
Earlier, representatives of the "White Helmets" have already filmed a staged video about the alleged use of chemical weapons in Idlib. The Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties got a video showing the "consequences" of a bombing attack by the Syrian Air Force with an unknown "chemical weapon".
