Mexico can use about 24 million doses of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, this decision was made following a meeting of the Mexican government with representatives of the Russian side.
Deputy Minister of Health of the country Hugo Lopez-Gatel spoke about the details of the negotiations, who last week personally visited Argentina, where the production of the drug from the Russian Federation will soon be organized, TASS reports.
“We have reached preliminary agreements that could potentially give the Mexican government the opportunity to obtain vaccines from the Russian Gamalea Institute,” the official said.
Hugo Lopez-Gatel also announced plans by local authorities to use up to 24 million doses of the drug in Russia, which, he said, would be enough for at least 12 million people.
Earlier, the Sputnik V developer announced the timing of the start of vaccination against coronavirus infection among children.
