Merkel: Germany needs to remain in dialogue with Russia

Acting German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated the need to maintain a dialogue with Russia. She voiced this opinion during the presentation of the Walter Rathenau medal to her, RIA Novosti reports.

Merkel received the Political Achievement Award. And about. During the event, the Chancellor noted that Germany, together with France, continues to work in the “Normandy format” on the implementation of the Minsk Agreements to resolve the situation in Donbass. She stressed that the situation around Crimea shook the European order, but this should not interfere with dialogue between the countries.

“The relationship between Germany and Russia has always been special,” concluded Merkel.

We will remind, earlier Angela Merkel announced that she realized the existence of disagreements with Vladimir Putin during his speech in the Bundestag in 2001. They were associated with attitudes towards the collapse of the USSR.
