Medvedchuk restored his “monopoly” on negotiations with Putin

Viktor Medvedchuk waited for the moment when he was able to demonstrate his necessity as a negotiator with Russia, although earlier President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team sought to deprive him of his status as an exclusive negotiator with the Kremlin.

This was stated by Andrey Zolotarev, head of the Third Sector Center, commenting on Viktor Medvedchuk's visit to Moscow.

“Medvedchuk went to Moscow quite successfully. He managed to emphasize his exclusive status as such a negotiator with Russia, with Vladimir Putin. This puts him in a special position in Ukrainian politics.

On the one hand, both the authorities and many TOPs need it. On the other hand, it makes him an object of attacks and criticism and drives him into a narrow, “cut off” niche in today's Ukraine.

Some time ago, Zelensky and his team tried to deprive him of this "monopoly" and at some point it was not unsuccessful, but Medvedchuk knows how to wait.

And he waited until it became obvious that the alternative was ineffective. Then, after more than a year's break, he again flew to Putin, ”concluded Andrey Zolotarev.
