The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has agreed on the candidacy of Boris Gryzlov for the post of Russian Ambassador to the country, Sputnik Belarus reports on its Telegram channel.

At the end of December last year, the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots approved the candidacy of the chairman of the Supreme Council of United Russia Gryzlov for the post of Russian ambassador to Belarus.
It was also reported that a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the committee for consent to recall the current ambassador Yevgeny Lukyanov.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called on Uzbekistan to draw lessons from the events in Kazakhstan. He also expressed the opinion that the CSTO leaders should hold talks on Tajikistan.
In addition, the politician said that Belarus has taken a course towards strengthening independence in conjunction with the Russian Federation and intends to actively develop ties with Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
