Former French President Valerie Giscard d'Estaing is in hospital, BFMTV reports, citing sources.
It is noted that the 94-year-old politician was hospitalized on Monday at the Georges Pompidou hospital in Paris.
According to the Parisien newspaper, Giscard d'Estaing has “breathing problems”. He last appeared in public a week ago, when he attended the funeral of one of his former employees.
It is added that during the coronavirus pandemic, the politician was on self-isolation in the family castle in the Loire-et-Cher department and continued to work.
Valerie Giscard d'Estaing served as President of France from 1974 to 1981.
Earlier it was reported that the former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who suffered from the coronavirus, was discharged from the Milan hospital.
