The hospitalization of the head coach of the Russian national biathlon team Valery Polkhovsky is a consequence of the coronavirus infection and the psychological shock that he experienced during the World Cup in Pokljuka. President of the Russian Biathlon Union Viktor Maygurov told reporters about this.
In his opinion, Polkhovsky is worried about the result of Russian athletes, and in addition, was criticized by the media and biathlon experts.
“The body is not iron, but now everything is stable,” TASS quotes Maigurov as saying.
Earlier it was reported that Polkhovsky’s condition deteriorated critically in the morning on Friday, he was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Jesenice, where he spent several hours. There is a possibility that the head coach of the country for health reasons will not be able to attend the end of the World Cup in Slovenia.
Recall that the biathlon world championship will end on Sunday, and there are no medals in the collection of the Russian national team yet.
