The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin said that the fan identification system will start operating in the Russian championships from the 2021/22 season.
“Control over admission to stadiums is a very important element of security, therefore it is defined in the Strategy. I think that from next season this system will be introduced only in football. Now everything is at the stage of approval and approval,” Matytsin quotes Interfax.
The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation also noted that there will be no Fan ID in the direct form, as it was at the 2018 World Cup.
The FAN system was used during the 2017 Confederations Cup and 2018 World Cup matches. Fan ID was a personal card that allowed identifying the identity of a fan when entering matches.
