The death of Igor Talkov radically changed the life of the singer Aziza. Recall that the artist died in 1991. In St. Petersburg, he was shot dead by the artist’s bodyguard and boyfriend, Igor Mokhov. Although this has not been officially proven, no one has ever been punished for the death of the performer. There was another suspect in the case – Valery Shlyafman, director of Igor Talkov. Who immediately after the tragedy fled the country.
Nevertheless, the anger of the people then fell upon Aziza. The public believed that the idol of millions died through the fault of the singer, or at least she could intervene in the conflict and prevent the tragedy.
One way or another, after the incident, persecution began against the artist, she lost the opportunity to perform on stage. She received threats and insults. In a recent interview, Aziza admitted that she was going through this period very hard.
“After the death of Talkov, many in my place would have drunk themselves or even worse … But I was born in a family of musicians. My ancestors are deeply religious people, they are servants of the mosque. I didn’t have the task of dying on stage. I looked at everything calmly, there was no opportunity to sing – I taught, embroidered, as my grandmothers taught, got married. I lived, not survived, ”recalls the artist.
Now Aziza is experiencing a new round of popularity thanks to squabbles in her personal life and trips to TV shows. The artist did not succeed with hits, she admits that she has always been “unformatted”, and the lyrics of her songs are too specific and deep, which is why they were not clear to many.
