Singer Manizha spoke about her relationship to the criticism of the song “Russian Woman”, with which she will represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest.
In an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, Manizha admitted that she did not expect such a radical reaction to her work.
“As if any normal living person can get scared, I can get worn out, I can find myself in a state of trepidation, emotions. And at the beginning I had thoughts that, my Lord, maybe I still don’t need to go? ” – said the singer.
The singer stressed that, looking at the situation more serenely, she was able to check the pressure.
Manizha also commented on the words of Leonid Agutin, who criticized the composition and said that from a professional point of view, we are talking about “a very light work”. The musician said that such a song “is ashamed to exhibit at a music competition.”
“This is his opinion, he has the right,” said Manizha. She added that she, too, may not like all Agutin’s songs, but this does not mean that he is an awesome singer. The artist does not consider her composition easy and unfeignedly believes in it.
Manizha gave the song “Russian Woman” to the stereotypes that had been imposed on her by society for a long time.
“Do I go out like this and yell:” Everyone, everyone, start up your men, don’t give birth to children! And work smartly for everyone! ” so “, – said the singer.
She noted that life is very multifaceted and it is worth trying different things, and not thinking that you were created for one thing.
The International Eurovision Song Contest will take place from 18 to 22 May at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam. Last Friday, May 7, Manizha flew to the Netherlands.
