French leader Emmanuel Macron will soon hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This is stated in the message of the Elysee Palace following the results of the talks between Macron and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The format of negotiations with Putin has not been specified.
The day before, Macron received Zelensky at the Elysee Palace. Later, they had a videoconference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. During the meeting, the French leader reaffirmed France’s commitment to the unity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Zelenskiy said earlier that Western countries should invite Ukraine to NATO and the EU.
We add that earlier this week, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that a telephone conversation between Putin and Macron before or after the visit of the Ukrainian leader to Paris is not yet planned.
