11 issues related to integration and interests of the Commonwealth were submitted for consideration by the heads of state. The President of Belarus emphasized that the CIS countries need to strengthen the customs and economic ties of the member states of the organization. In his opinion, the international zones have long been divided among other major players, so “one should look for one’s own happiness in one’s own markets.”

Lukashenko drew attention to the need to take real steps to protect the interests of the CIS in the world. In his opinion, the cooperation of the mutually complementary economies of the Commonwealth countries is of great importance. The President also added that the Russian-Belarusian integration can become an example for the organization.

“In the current conditions, the experience of the union of Belarus and Russia – the Union State – can again act as a locomotive of integration processes, offering the best practices for the EAEU and the CIS. I would like to draw your attention to the multilevel integration that is taking shape in the post-Soviet space, ”Lukashenka explained.

The national leader also noted the unprecedented pressure of sanctions, which has been increasingly faced in recent years. In his opinion, only the maximum pooling of efforts will make it possible to actually resist all external challenges and threats.
