President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko approved the draft protocol on amendments to the agreement with Russia on the procedure for setting prices for the supply and transit of gas.
The decree, published on the national legal Internet portal, notes that the government of Belarus is authorized to conduct negotiations and sign the protocol. The protocol will be temporarily applied upon expiration of 10 days from the date of its signing before its entry into force.
As a reminder, last year Minsk paid $ 127 per thousand cubic meters for Russian gas, but the Belarusian authorities insisted on lowering the price. In December, the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, met with the Minister of Energy of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich. The parties signed a protocol defining the procedure for setting prices for the supply of natural gas to the republic in 2021.
Later, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus announced that the price of gas in the coming year will actually remain at the level of 2020, it amounted to $ 128.5 per thousand cubic meters.
Earlier it was reported that from February 1, Belarus increases the tariff for pumping Russian oil through its territory. According to the decree of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the republic, the cost of the service for Gomeltransneft Druzhba OJSC will grow by 6.6%.
