President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko did not appreciate the idea to move the platform for negotiations on Donbass from Minsk.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, Leonid Kravchuk, previously allowed the transfer of the platform for negotiations to resolve the conflict in Donbass from Belarus to Sweden. According to the politician, this will happen if protests resume in Minsk.
The president of the republic reacted to his words. During a meeting with the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgeny Shevchenko, he admitted that he did not understand why the delegates had to go so far. Lukashenka believes that the process in this case may be delayed. “This is a purely political bacchanalia,” the head of state said.
The President of Belarus also said that the normalization of the situation in Donbass depends only on Ukraine. Lukashenko said that if Ukraine starts to comply with the Minsk agreements, it will win in the medium term. He also noted that Moscow can help Kiev a lot.
The conflict in Donbass escalated in March-April this year. The parties refused to fulfill the previously accepted agreements. Kiev blamed Moscow for this situation. In Russia, they denied involvement in the hostilities and stressed that, on the contrary, they are interested in an early resolution of the crisis in Ukraine.
Nezalezhnaya President Volodymyr Zelenskiy recently named the only way to end the conflict in Donbas. Details are in this article.
