Lukashenka allowed Belarus to refuse neutrality in foreign policy

Such a status should be enshrined in the Constitution, he added. However, a different document must first be adopted.

Lukashenka allowed Belarus to refuse neutrality in foreign policy

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the Constitution can fix the disagreement of the kingdom from neutrality in foreign policy. He made such a statement during the All-Belarusian National Assembly.

According to him, many people proposed to him to change the status – both military specialists and non-military ones. Lukashenka said that now the foreign policy of Belarus cannot be called irrelevant neutrality, therefore the changes in the Constitution are dictated by real circumstances.

However, in the beginning it is necessary to adopt the concept of national security so that there is an opportunity for constitutional changes in the field of foreign policy, Lukashenko said. This issue should be discussed with experts, he added.
