Moscow Lokomotiv lost to Austrian Salzburg in the match of the fifth round of the group stage of the Champions League.
The score was opened by Austrian striker Mergim Berisha in the 28th minute, after 13 minutes he scored a double.
At the end of the second half, in the 79th minute, Russian midfielder Anton Miranchuk scored from a penalty spot, and two minutes later, Salzburg forward Karim Adeimi sent another goal to the railroad’s gates.
Group A meeting took place in Moscow and ended with the score 3: 1 in favor of the Austrian team.
“Salzburg” with four points overtook “Lokomotiv”, which has three points, and took the third place in the group.
Thus, the Muscovites have lost their chances of reaching the Champions League playoffs, but they retain their chances of reaching the 1/16 finals of the Europa League.
In the next match Lokomotiv will play against Bayern Munich on December 9, while Salzburg will play against Atletico Madrid at home.
