Lithuanians who violated the Russian border in the Curonian Lagoon returned to their homeland

Three Lithuanian citizens who violated the Russian border in the Curonian Lagoon on Sunday, October 24, were transferred to the Baltic republic.

The correspondents of the radio station LRT were informed about this by the press representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Vytauta Šmaizite-Kuleshene.

According to her, at present, the citizens detained on the territory of the Russian Federation have safely returned to Lithuania.

At the same time, the representative of the foreign policy department did not deny, but did not confirm the media information that among the detainees was the mayor of Klaipeda region Bronius Markauskas, who is fond of fishing.

As noted by Shmaizite-Kuleshene, this information is currently being specified.

We will remind that earlier the Lithuanian authorities announced their intention to build a wall on the border with Belarus to restrain the flow of illegal migrants. In addition, the Lithuanian side brought in an army to guard the border.
