By the morning of January 7, in Kazakhstan, the police detained more than 3 thousand people during the “sweep” operation. “All buildings of city and regional mayor’s offices, as well as police departments in the republic have been taken under control,” the ministry said. Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, headed the Security Council of the republic, removing Nursultan Nazarbayev from this post, and appealed to the leaders of the CSTO countries for help “in overcoming the terrorist threat.” The president motivated his request by the fact that the riots in Kazakhstan were caused by external aggression.

Military men from Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan have already arrived in Kazakhstan. The Russian part of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent includes the 31st separate guards airborne assault brigade from Ulyanovsk, the 98th guards airborne division from Ivanovo. It is planned that assistance to Kazakhstan will also be provided by airborne forces based in the Tula and Kostroma regions.

The actions of the peacekeepers were practically supported by all the leading politicians of Russia. Leader of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov stressed that the unrest in Kazakhstan was provoked by the government itself, which doubled gas prices.

“This has hurt many layers of the population, since over 60% of the consumption of liquefied gas is accounted for by motor vehicles. At the same time, it is obvious that citizens’ dissatisfaction is of a broader nature: prices for everything are growing, while wages are low. On the whole, oligarchic capital that has established itself in the post-Soviet space does not take into account the interests of the working people. All this led to massive protests. Looking at what is happening in Kazakhstan, there is something for Putin to think about. In Russia, prices are also going off scale, and real food inflation is approaching 20%! ”- said the chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

According to the head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma Vladimir Vasiliev, the situation in Kazakhstan causes concern among the entire world community, since “we are now on the verge of creating a hotbed in which Islamic terrorists will again sow destruction and death.”

Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky he sees the reasons for what is happening in too great inequality between the poor and the rich, as well as in the absence of genuine democracy. “Nazarbayev became the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan even before 1991, before independence. Now his successor Tokayev is in power, and one of their parties always wins elections with a result of under 80%. And at the same time nothing can be criticized. Not only Nazarbayev and Tokayev, but even existing problems. And all those who are against are forced to leave for immigration. People can’t stand it, ”he wrote on his Telegram channel.

As Zhirinovsky is sure, national oppression also influenced the protest mood. Vladimir Volfovich recalled that he himself was born in Kazakhstan, where during his childhood most of the children in the class were Russians. Now the opposite is true, the Russians are “in a terrible enclosure.”

He told Svobodnaya Press about how the situation in Kazakhstan will develop. Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov

“SP”: – What is happening now in Kazakhstan – is it a riot, conspiracy, uprising?

– This is a spontaneous situation caused by the inept actions of the authorities, the excessive greed of oligarchs and owners of energy resources … It developed into a riot with the support and direct coordination of some foreign interested forces, including the special services. Judging by the fact that events in Kazakhstan developed in all directions at once, which had not been observed before, they promoted a lot through Internet channels, warming up the situation. All this was facilitated by high inflation and higher food prices. The situation was blown up by a two-fold increase in gas prices, which was immediately taken advantage of by some interested parties in the destabilization of the situation in Kazakhstan.

“SP”: – Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said that the riots in Kazakhstan were financed …

– I think the special services already know who is behind the funding, I can only guess. All the past color revolutions have not been without outside intervention or opposition structures that are fueled by London, New York … The interested forces from Afghanistan, in my opinion, are definitely behind the events. After the Americans shamefully fled from Afghanistan, they tried to put pressure on the Central Asian states, including Kazakhstan. He refused to host a transit base for the jump – the Yankees are annoyed, as well as friendly relations with Russia.

Washington has already curbed the authorities of Kazakhstan, they say, think about the unlawful use of force. At the same time, they themselves do not stand on ceremony with the rioters. Let us recall the situation with the storming of the Capitol in Washington a year ago, when the National Guard forces were drawn to the aid of the police to suppress the protest. We need to deal with our own problems, including in Kazakhstan, with the help of those structures that are called upon to help in solving such situations – for example, the CSTO.

“SP”: – What can Russia expect from what is happening in Kazakhstan? How can these events affect the rapprochement of the CIS countries?

– They will have a positive effect, if only because it is easier to solve problems together. And not only in the use of the CSTO, but also in the formation of the parliament of the Eurasian Economic Union, which, by the way, has been politicizing Kazakhstan all the time.

Kazakhstan, represented by Nazarbayev and his entourage, has always said that the economy is ahead, and politics will wait. And this hindered the further development of the creation of the necessary infrastructure. Despite the fact that I respect him as the initiator of this movement on Eurasian integration, it was he who slowed down the political component of this movement, including the creation of a general parliament.

Therefore, we must not wait, but move towards the timely creation of laws, including for taming the greed of the oligarchs. Incidentally, Russia in this regard, oddly enough, has advanced a little further. In Kazakhstan, it was impossible not to see that the greed of the rulers would lead to popular unrest and the disintegration of the state, which is what the West dreams of.

Russia needs to deal with its problems, its oligarchs, its tariffs, its food products. We are not much different from Kazakhstan. It is also a country of raw materials. Our oligarchs are no less greedy than Kazakhs.

If we talk about Kazakhstan, I exclude the coming to power of anti-Russian forces here, as other political scientists gossip about. The situation in the world has changed. We understand very well what Kazakhstan is for us with its longest border for us. The leadership of Kazakhstan is likely to be able to resolve the situation favorably. And I, like many others, hope that deep integration awaits us – for the benefit of the citizens of our countries.
