The decision of the Technocratic Cabinet was confirmed by the Minister of Public Works and Transport Michel Najjar. At the same time, he stressed that the ministers will fulfill their duties until a new government is formed.
Recall, on March 4, a powerful explosion thundered in the seaport of Beirut. As a result of the incident, more than 150 people were killed, over 5 thousand citizens were injured. Currently, the exact number of missing persons has not been established. In addition, many buildings in the Lebanese capital were destroyed by the blast.
Earlier, Lebanese Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad said she was leaving her post. In addition, Minister of Environment and Administrative Development Damianos Kattar and the head of the Ministry of Justice of Lebanon Marie-Claude Najem have resigned. Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab called an emergency meeting to discuss the situation related to the decision of a number of ministers to resign. According to the Prime Minister, a way out of the crisis in the country is possible only with early parliamentary elections.
