Four Crimean museums have filed a lawsuit to return the treasures that were provided for the exhibition to the Netherlands. A Dutch court ruled that the collection should be returned to Ukraine, not Russia.
This decision drew sharp criticism from the French.
“These items were donated for the exhibition by a museum, not by the state. Obviously, they must be returned. Otherwise, it is very likely that no one else will want to offer collections for exhibitions in Dutch museums, ”writes the user with the nickname Le Forgeron.
Commentators insist that Crimean gold should be returned to a museum in Crimea, regardless of which state the peninsula belongs to.
