The State Duma of Russia adopted a law on fines for violating the rules of the activities of NGOs and individuals recognized by foreign agents, RIA Novosti reports.
The message states that the sanctions for mentioning foreign agents without a special label will only apply to the media.
The document will come into force on March 1 of this year.
Recall that the law on punishment for malicious violations of the order of activities of individuals and foreign agent organizations, including for collecting information about national security, was signed by the Russian President on December 30.
The law provides for the punishment for such a crime up to five years in prison. At the same time, it is clarified that foreign agents are threatened with criminal liability if they have already been brought to administrative responsibility and continued to violate the established rules.
