Lavrov urged the EU to avoid double approaches on the Polish-Belarusian border

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on EU countries to avoid double standards in the migration crisis on the border of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania, TASS reports.

The Russian minister stressed that it is impossible to apply different standards to Italy and Poland. The countries from which the refugees are coming should be treated the same. Lavrov recalled that when the refugees came from Turkey, the EU allocated funding to leave them on the territory of this country.

Earlier it was reported that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed with Duda the situation on the border of Poland and Belarus. It was pointed out that the use of migrants as a hybrid tactic is unacceptable.

We will remind, on November 8, the border committee of Belarus reported that more than two thousand refugees from the countries of East and Africa went to the border of Poland. The department clarified that the situation at the border was quite tense. Polish border guards refused to let the migrants pass. Poland closed the Kuznitsa checkpoint, and the Lithuanian authorities introduced a state of emergency in the regions bordering with Belarus.
