Lavrov joked about the competition of US special services on scenarios around Ukraine

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov joked that the United States intelligence agencies were probably holding a competition to create scripts in case the situation in Ukraine escalated. This is reported by Izvestia.

“It seems that the United States, as reported, has 17 special services and intelligence services,” Lavrov said.

He continued that if you add the State Department to them, you get 18 departments.

“They may be announcing a competition within themselves,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry joked.

On January 15, US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland announced that Washington had prepared 18 scenarios in case the Russian side invaded Ukraine and the situation around this country deteriorated.

The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the North Atlantic Alliance is invading Ukraine with its infrastructure, weapons and training of the Ukrainian military.

Last Saturday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki opined that Moscow would “attack” Ukraine between mid-January and mid-February. At the same time, the Russian Embassy in the United States called the words of Psaki a stuffing.
