Molinari published an article in an Italian edition with the headline “Tanks and Migrants”. He criticized Russian foreign policy and accused Moscow of allegedly creating a migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border and sending military equipment to Ukraine, linking everything to the launch of Nord Stream 2.
Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel that the Italian editor-in-chief insulted Russia’s foreign policy activities and called this article “stinking slander.” The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that Moscow has never deceived Rome on gas supplies and advised Molinari to write at least one sentence of truth.
“Moscow has never failed or deceived Rome on gas supplies. How does the conscience of an Italian journalist allow you to speak in such a boorish tone about Russian suppliers of hydrocarbons? Personally, Mr. Molinari, don’t you like Russian gas? Fine. I have a great idea – Maurizio, heat your house with La Repubblica in protest, ”Zakharova wrote.
The Italian editor-in-chief did not stop there and sent a personal response to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the content of which he decided not to advertise.
“If Zakharova deems it necessary, she will distribute it,” he said.
