Kyrgyzstan does not plan to open a US military base on its territory

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said that they do not intend to deploy an American military base in the republic. TASS reports.

“We have a Russian base in Kant (Chui oblast). One base is enough for us, ”he said.

Japarov stressed that the Kyrgyz side does not want to play cat and mouse with influential countries, hosting two bases.

At the same time, he recalled that in 2014, an American military facility in the country was closed.

The US base has operated at the Bishkek airport since 2001. Washington used it to support Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. However, in 2014 it was closed at the request of the Kyrgyz side.

Earlier it was reported that Sadyr Japarov signed a decree, according to which he dismisses the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, headed by Ulukbek Maripov.
