Kudrin assessed the likelihood of Russia’s return to a planned economy

Russia has definitely become a country with a normal market economy, and there will never be a return to a planned economy. This opinion was expressed in an interview with TASS by the head of the Accounts Chamber, ex-head of the Ministry of Finance Alexei Kudrin.

He is sure that this dispute can be put to an end. According to him, if Russia uses the state plan again, it could even lag behind African states, whose economies are growing very fast.

However, Kudrin recognized the need for state regulation of prices on a targeted scale and in case of shock situations. At the same time, the head of the Accounts Chamber believes that it is impossible to hold back prices for more than two or three months, since there will be disproportions in the economy. In addition, incentives to invest in industries that will be under state regulation will decrease.

Kudrin has previously described the energy transition as the biggest challenge for the Russian economy. He doubts that all countries will be able to realize this scenario in full by 2050.

One of the main drivers of Russia’s development are national projects. In 2021, their implementation has gone halfway, writes FederalPress.
