The Kremlin reported that at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, the issue of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline was not discussed in detail.
"Today, as far as I know, this was not the main topic," TASS quotes the words of Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
He added that at the meeting, Miller talked about international projects, but concentrated more on work on a gas pipeline through Mongolia.
In addition, Peskov expressed bewilderment at the attempts of some countries to link the fate of the gas pipeline to politically motivated circumstances.
“We do not understand this, we are perplexed and strongly disagree with this,” he said.
Prior to this, Peskov urged Western partners not to politicize the situation around the Nord Stream 2 project.
Earlier it was reported that Miller, during a working meeting with Putin, told about preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
