The conversation at the talks in the Normandy format was not easy, but frank, said Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, TASS reports.
“We had a difficult conversation, but perhaps the first such frank conversation in order to take an inventory of all the problems related to the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” he said after the Normandy Four meeting.
According to him, the meeting participants stressed that both sides of the conflict must strictly comply with the ceasefire regime. Kozak noted that the primary task of the talks is to eliminate disagreements in reading the Minsk agreements.
Negotiations of political advisers to the leaders of the “Normandy format” (Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine) lasted 8.5 hours. They took place in Paris.
The next meeting of the Normandy Four will be held in Berlin in two weeks. Kozak expressed the hope that in the coming 14 days the issue of the status of Donbass would get off the ground.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Russian side was ready to contribute to reaching agreements within the Normandy format, but Kiev is doing nothing to implement the decisions of the summit, which took place in Paris in 2019.
