The deputy head of the Russian presidential administration Dmitry Kozak held talks on Tuesday with the head of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov, following which he made a statement, TASS reports.
Kozak arrived in Bishkek on behalf of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Thus, during the meeting, a representative of the Russian side emphasized the key role of the president of the republic in creating conditions for stabilizing the situation on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
As the press service of the Russian Embassy said, the parties also discussed the further development of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation today.
It is worth noting that Jeenbekov, since the beginning of the crisis in the country that erupted after the parliamentary elections, spoke on the phone with Vladimir Putin several times. In turn, Moscow has repeatedly offered the head of the Kyrgyz state assistance in resolving the situation in the republic.
Earlier, the European Union also expressed confidence that Sooronbai Jeenbekov is able to bring the situation in the republic to stabilization. The EU also announced its readiness to help the Kyrgyz side in organizing repeat parliamentary elections.
