The current European champion Alena Kostornaya will not perform at the test skates of the Russian national figure skating team with a free program, reports Down-the-line.com.
Coach Kostornaya, two-time Olympic champion Evgeny Plushenko noted that the skater's free program is not yet ready, so it was decided to perform only with a short program at the test skates.
It is noted that the athlete would not have had time to prepare two programs in a short time, since she only recently joined Plushenko's team.
Recall that at the end of July, the honored coach of the Russian Federation in figure skating Eteri Tutberidze announced the departure of the European champion Alena Kostornaya from her group. The reason she called the conditions put forward by the skater, who did not want to train with other athletes.
Plushenko, in turn, said that Kostornaya joined him in the group on her own initiative. According to him, she wanted to completely change the team, and now she will have new programs.
In August, the general director of the Russian Figure Skating Federation, Alexander Kogan, said that this season Kostornaya would only be able to play for his former club, Sambo-70.
We add that the Olympic champion Alina Zagitova refused to participate in the test skates of the national team in order to participate in the ice show.
