Kosachev: Participants of the meeting of the Russia-NATO Council remained to their own

Vice Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev said that following the meeting of the Russia-NATO Council, each side remained with its own, TASS reports.

According to him, the meeting was held in the traditional genre of two monologues, not dialogue.

“For the good – and NATO this time listened to our monologue, and not just us – NATO (which everything came down to in the last extremely unsuccessful years for Europe). Of the less good, the parties, apparently, remained on their own, ”he explained.

Recall that the meeting of the Russia-NATO Council was held on Wednesday. Russia was represented by an interdepartmental delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko. NATO was attended by diplomats from thirty allied countries and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Stoltenberg previously called Russia’s desire to resume dialogue within the Council with NATO a positive step, in turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the level of military representatives of the alliance during the negotiations would be an indicator of readiness for dialogue with Moscow.
