The eldest son of the new King Charles III, Prince of Wales, William made a statement in which he promised to support his father “in all possible ways.”
Prince William paid tribute to his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. “I will honor her memory by supporting my father, the king, in every possible way.“, – Reuters quotes an excerpt from the prince’s statement. William, 40, who is now heir to the throne, said the Queen was by his side during his happiest moments and his saddest days.
“My three children spent their holidays with her and created memories that will last a lifetime. My grandmother famously said that grief is the price we pay for love. All the sadness we will experience in the coming weeks will be a testament to the love we felt for our extraordinary queen.the 40-year-old prince continued.
“I knew this day would come, but it would be some time before life without grandma was truly real.“, the Prince of Wales said in a statement.
Charles III declared his son William Prince of Wales on 9 September. Among other things, Prince William assumed his father’s Scottish titles and also succeeded him as Duke of Cornwall.
Elizabeth II ruled for 70 years. She died on September 8 at the age of 96. Her funeral will take place on September 19.
