Kiev said that Ukraine has enough nuclear fuel

Kiev said that Ukraine has enough nuclear fuel for the current heating season, TASS reports.

Energy Minister of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko noted that there are half of the nuclear power units that run on RF fuel. According to him, the fuel reserve makes it possible to calmly spend the heating season. Galushchenko clarified that the fuel reserves exceed 100% of the needs of Ukrainian nuclear power plants. In the current heating season, in the face of constant growth in hydrocarbon prices, Ukraine is betting on nuclear generation.

Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal denied information about the government’s alleged preparation of a plan for rolling blackouts in Ukraine amid the energy crisis. Galushchenko also said that the Cabinet excludes rolling blackouts.

Prior to this, UNN reported that Kiev is developing a plan to prevent the energy crisis. According to the agency’s source, it depends on the decision made whether rolling power outages threaten industrial facilities and residents of the country.
