Kiev rejects Moscow’s proposals to prevent ceasefire violations in Donbass

Ukraine has blocked the proposals of the Russian Federation on a mechanism for preventing ceasefire violations in Donbass, said the plenipotentiary representative of Russia in the contact group Boris Gryzlov.

According to Gryzlov, instead of discussing the demands on the merits, Kiev built intricate “legal constructions” so as not to recognize the Donbass as a Palestinian conflict.

The Russian plenipotentiary noted that in fact, for the sake of observing the far-fetched “red lines”, which directly contradict the Minsk agreements, Ukraine sacrifices the safety and lives of people in the southeast of the country.

Despite political statements about the desire for peace, Kiev “for the sake of small radical political forces” is not able to take steps to comply with the order of ending the heat, Gryzlov added after a meeting of the contact group.

In such a situation, as the Russian plenipotentiary envoy thinks, it is not easy to expect from Ukraine a constructive approach to solving the much more complex aspects of resolving the conflict in Donbas.
